Family FAQ
What's the difference between the Championship and Club divisions?
The Arizona Region groups teams by competitive level. Our 15U team plays in the Championship division for strong, consistent competition. Our 12U team plays in the Club division, the only division the Arizona Region offers for 12 and under.
Does my daughter need a membership?
Yes. Every player needs an AZ Region / USAV junior membership ($75, bought on the AZ Region website). 15U players also need an AAU youth athlete membership ($22–$24) for AAU events. 12U players don't need AAU. Memberships must be active before she can practice or compete. We'll walk families through it after tryouts.
How much travel is involved?
Our 12U team plays only local AZ Region events, so there's no travel. For our 15U team, most events are in Arizona: six AZ Region Championship dates, the Arizona Regional Championship, the Festival Fiesta Classic, and the AZ NCQ. We also plan two out-of-state qualifiers, in Salt Lake City and Spokane. If we earn a bid, Nationals is in Las Vegas. Families arrange and pay for their own travel and lodging for those trips.
Can we qualify for Nationals?
For our 15U team, it's the stretch goal. A Nationals bid is earned by placing well at a qualifier, such as the Salt Lake City Showdown. It can't be bought, and it isn't guaranteed. The 2027 Girls Junior National Championship is June 27 – July 5 in Las Vegas.
How long is the commitment?
12U practices run November 10, 2026 through May 15, 2027, and the season ends with Region Championships on May 1. 15U practices run December 1, 2026 through May 15, 2027, and players commit through July for any post-season play.
Can parents watch practice?
Our practice policy will be shared at the parent meeting after tryouts.
